If there is a cave that you have to go to in Jeju, you have to go to Manjanggul … Because that’s where everyone goes 🙂
The lava tube was formed almost 300,000 years ago … and despite being listed as the top 10 in terms of length, it is only the second longest in Jeju.
The lava tube also has a lot of living creatures such as bats and spiders but I didn’t see any 😦
Instead, we are treated to various lava formations and the most impressive being a 7.6 m lava column, which is the largest in the world (that is known).
The cave is turned dim with soft light white lighting except for the final lava column, which is colorfully litted. It is also damp and cold inside, so it is best to wear a little more.
I thought it was little underwhelming until the last lava column. There tube continues on but that’s where the visitor’s party ends.
… There is also a center that explains the formations of these lavas just outside the cave itself.
